Why did you choose NVC and what do you like about it?
I have two siblings who attended NVC and they highly recommended this campus to me. It is rated one of the best collages in the state, and its programs and available resources intrigued me very much and have been very helpful.
Describe your background. What made you decide to be an artist?
I have always been interested in capturing nature's art by taking pictures. I was gifted a camera and that made my interest for photography and art increase. So, I chose to major in that field.
Which classes or faculty members impacted your work and your life?
My arts professor and advisor have been very supported of my art interest. They've inspired me to want to expand my knowledge and become better.
Describe your work’s concept, aesthetic, and your process of making it.
My work is based on what I see in my daily life. Im inspired by everything around me and I like to edit my work based on how it makes me feel and try to share that experience to others.
Which artists inspire and/or influence you the most and why?
Jay Maisel has a big influence on my work. He has photographed a variety of things and has many talents in photography industry. He is known for photographing big celebrities but his true talent is photographing every day life. He inspired me to see the beauty in life.
What kind of plans do you have set for your future as an artist? Are you planning to pursue a Bachelor's degree?
I plan to complete my time needed at NVC and transfer to a university to continue to pursue a degree in art.
