Heritage Month Keynote Speaker Cheech Marin
Date: September 17, 2020
Time: 12:30 - 1:30 p.m.
- Palo Alto College, Faculty & Staff, Students
Best known as one half of the hilariously irreverent, satirical, counter-culture, no-holds-barred duo Cheech and Chong, Cheech Marin is a paradox in the world of entertainment. Cheech is an actor, director, writer, musician, and humanitarian – a man who has enough talent, humor, and intelligence to do just about anything.
As an ardent Chicanx art supporter and collector, Cheech Marin has developed the finest private collection of Chicanx art in the United States. Much of this collection formed the core of his groundbreaking exhibition, “Chicano Visions: American Painters on the Verge,” which broke attendance records when it toured major art museums in the U.S. from 2001–2007. The Riverside Art Museum provides the permanent home for this world-renowned collection.
