Lalo Alcaráz is an award-winning visual/media artist and television/film writer. He was Cultural Consultant on the Oscar-winning Day of the Dead-themed animated global hit Pixar movie Coco. A prolific political cartoonist, Alcaráz has won six Southern California Press Awards for Best Editorial Cartoon. Alcaráz’s graphic novel and cartoon books include the New York Times bestseller A Most Imperfect Union, Latino USA: A Cartoon History15th Anniversary EditionMigra Mouse: Political Cartoons on Immigration; and La Cucaracha. He has a forthcoming graphic history novel, UNIDOS, is about the historic civil rights group UnidosUS, formerly National Council of La Raza.
