Goodwill SA employees receive certificates through UpSkillSA!

Goodwill San Antonio employees were recently awarded Level 1 Certificates from Palo Alto College as part of the UpSkillSA! CertificatePLUS program.

Launched in 2019 in collaboration with Alamo Colleges Online and Goodwill San Antonio, UpSkillSA! offers the education, training, and skills development Goodwill SA employees need for advancement opportunities within the logistics and supply chain management industry. With funding through a grant from Walmart, UpSkill SA! is available at no cost to Goodwill SA employees.

“I enjoyed the online class. I feel like it’s helped me better myself,” said Carmen Frias, production store manager for Goodwill SA. “I’m very thankful for the opportunity that’s been given to me because I will be able to apply all the practices and principles I learned to my current position at Goodwill. I recommend this program to my fellow team members.”

The program, which was temporarily paused due to the pandemic, has recently been relaunched with plans to scale. “We are scaling at a slow and steady rate and are currently building our recruiting plan around Flex 2 in March,” said David Meadows, director of career services for Goodwill San Antonio.

Goodwill SA employees interested in the program must complete enrollment steps by Feb. 28 for Flex 2, which begins March 7, 2022. To learn more about UpSkillSA!, visit alamo.edu/online/goodwill.
