On Saturday, April 23, the Palo Alto College Women’s Basketball Team won the Texas Collegiate Athletic Conference (TCAC) Championship. This is PAC’s first conference win in eight years.

After a 58 to 45 game with Northeast Lakeview College, the team walked away with the title.

“It’s just a great win,” said freshman Hailie Salazar. “We are feeling accomplished and feeling great knowing that the work we put in paid off in the end.”

This was a Cinderella story for the team. They pulled through and came home champions even after facing various obstacles during the season.

“We faced a lot of struggles together,” said freshman Juliana Segovia. “Losing a coach took away time that we should have had for practice, but we gained an opportunity to work with a new coach that pushed us to the best of our abilities.”

The season is now over for the team, but the bar has been set. Returning team members look forward to continuing what they started this spring in fall 2022.

The Texas Collegiate Athletic Conference (TCAC) consists of teams from Alamo Colleges District sister colleges and two- and four-year colleges not associated with any other athletic leagues.
