Implicit Bias training for Students (in the classroom)
Facilitators: Mona Aldana-Ramirez and Dr. Marianne Bueno

Create space in your classroom to talk about the impact of implicit bias. Students engage in discussion and reflection during this group activity as they learn how bias manifests in our unconscious thinking. Implicit Bias and Intro to Microaggressions
Facilitators: Mona Aldana-Ramirez and Dr. Marianne Bueno

This session introduces participants to the concept of implicit bias, types of microaggressions, and offers strategies to address these issues faced by Black, Indigenous and people of color. Participants will complete the Implicit Association Test (IAT) during this session. Select and register for one session.

Identifying and Addressing Microaggressions

This in-depth discussion provides examples of microaggressions students encounter on-campus and in the community. This is a continuation of the session on Implicit Bias. Learn how to identify and address this form of oppression to improve our campus culture.

Using Land Acknowledgments
Facilitators: Various from SAC, NVC and NLC

Learn how we help make the invisible visible. This is a collaboration of colleagues from across the colleges working toward welcoming our Native Urban students. Come learn historical facts and understand the need to transform our institution through an inclusive narrative. Invited panelists will engage in dialogue on the purpose of and proper use of land acknowledgements.

Equity in Hiring-Training for hiring committees

Available for faculty and staff who are part of hiring new employees. This session reviews the role bias, merit and fit play a part in hiring practices by looking at data.
