What is the Academic Success Center?
The Academic Success Center is designed to help the students of Alamo Colleges District get the most out of their education. The Academic Success Center supplements classroom instruction by offering learning strategies that enhance the success potential of traditional students in the college environment.
What services are available?
The Academic Success Center at San Antonio College provides
The Academic Success Center lab is one of the largest computer labs at SAC and provides students with
- over 80 computers
- scanners (both sheet fed and flatbed)
- printing services
- mobile device charging stations
- access to WiFi

Note: Tutoring services are available by appointment. Drop-in tutoring is ok but is dependent on the tutors not having appointments. Students can schedule their own tutoring appointments by using the AlamoNavigate link inside their ACES account. The tutoring availability schedule is posted on the SAC Remote Tutoring page along with tutorial videos on how to schedule appointments and using Zoom.
If you are having trouble setting up your own appointments, please contact us at 210-486-0170 or send an email to sac-tutoring@alamo.edu. If you send an email, make sure to include the necessary information (Banner ID, day, time, course number, whether in-person or Zoom) so that an appointment can be scheduled.
Self-Help Handouts and Course Tutorials on a variety of subjects are also available for download.
The Academic Success Center offers a variety of workshops to help students succeed academically and professionally.

- one-on-one workshop appointments can be scheduled with a tutor
- faculty can request to have a tutor present a workshop to their class

If there is a topic you would like to see covered, please email us at sac-tutoring@alamo.edu and we can look into having our tutors develop a workshop to address the topic.
Gerald Manahan started a supplies station in the Academic Success Center to provide Alamo Colleges students with free school supplies. We ask that students please check in at the front desk when coming for supplies so that we can see how much of a demand there is to continue or expand the service.

2 single person study pods are available for those wanting a reduced noise environment to work or study. Check in at the front service desk using the studying service on the kiosk.
The Academic Success Center has two computer classrooms (MLC 707J and 707R) that are available for Alamo Colleges faculty and staff to reserve.
- Both computer classrooms have a faculty/staff workstation, projector, SmartBoard, web cameras and whiteboard.
- Room MLC 707J is equipped with two projectors - one at the front and one at the rear of the classroom.

The Academic Success Center serves all currently enrolled Alamo Colleges District students.
