New Student Orientation
WELCOME TO NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION AT SAN ANTONIO COLLEGE
New Student Orientation is mandatory for all students entering San Antonio College for the first time. If you are a First Time In College Student or a student transferring to San Antonio College from another college with less than 15 hours, you need to make arrangements to attend one of our sessions, which consists of an online component as well as an on campus component. All questions about New Student Orientation can be directed to the Duran Welcome Center, located at Main and Park Ave on the San Antonio College Campus (210) 486-0040.
What are the expected outcomes from this session?
Get Acclimated to San Antonio College: Our Orientation staff will introduce you to important concepts, resources, and services that will help ensure your success as a San Antonio College student. This will include a campus tour to help better acquaint you with the campus culture and the location of your classes.
Register for Classes: At the completion of the morning portion of the NSO, you will meet your advisor, and go through a small group advising session with some of the other members of your NSO cohort. It is vital that you have made sure your application is complete with transcripts, all testing is complete, and refreshers have concluded if applicable and your Bacterial Meningitis has been submitted and processed by our third party vendor. If any of these steps are not complete you will not be able to complete this portion of the NSO and you will have to come back at a later date to do so. After group advising you will be assisted in registering for your first semester courses.
Pay Tuition and Fees: After you register for your courses, you will need to make arrangement to pay your bill with San Antonio College. In some cases, this will need to be the same day as this NSO session. If you are unable to make arrangements by your payment deadline date your courses could be dropped. Who is eligible to attend a New Student Orientation Session
If you have met the following criteria, please proceed to sign-up for the session you can attend:
You have applied for the term you wish to attend (i.e. Spring 2018)
All items in your ACES "Start Here" tab are complete
You have valid assessment scores on file (i.e. TSI) & completed required refresher course(s), if applicable
You have uploaded your Bacterial Meningitis documentation and received an approved status from Magnus Health (to ensure session participation, we recommend you complete this step at least 7 business days prior to your scheduled session.)

To ensure that everyone gets a space when they need to attend a session, please only sign up for the ONE session that you can fully attend. If you sign up for multiple spots you take a spot away from another student who needs it.
