Dr. McGilloway received her Ph.D. in Soil Science with course emphasis in soil microbiology from Texas A&M University in 2002. Her dissertation, entitled “Enumeration and Activity of Nitrifying Bacteria in Zeoponic Substrates”, was funded through a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Graduate Student Researcher’s Fellowship. Before that she received a M.S. in Environmental Science from Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi, and a B.A. in Biology from Texas A&M University. During her undergraduate education, she attended summer courses at San Antonio College. She previously served as an Instructor at the College of Southern Nevada. At San Antonio College, Dr. McGilloway teaches BIOL 2420 Microbiology for Allied Health Majors, and BIOL 2416 Genetics.
