Domestic/U.S. Student Admissions & Enrollment Steps  Download Checklist

Application

Submit an application for admission via ApplyTexas.


International Students:
Students who are applying for the F-1 visa from outside of the U.S. or tranferring with an F-1 visa from a U.S. college or university.

Transcript

Submit official transcripts from previous schools digitally, by mail, or in-person. Transcripts must be submitted sealed or directly to SAC from your previous institution to be considered official documents.

  • In-Person:
    Students may submit official, sealed transcripts in-person to the SAC Welcome Center, located in the Fletcher Administration Center (FAC) on the 2nd floor. Click here to view the campus map.


  • Foreign transcripts will need to undergo credential evaluation. Please visit naces.org/members for accepted evaluation services.

Foreign High School Transcripts: Students may select a general evaluation/analysis*

Foreign College Transcripts: Students should select a course-by-course evaluation/analysis*.

* Service wording may vary by evaluation provider.

Original foreign transcript must be presented with evaluation, or a copy must be included with evaluation.

Financial Aid

Submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at FAFSA.gov.

ACES

Access your ACES student account at aces.alamo.edu.

Meningitis Vaccine

Submit proof of Bacterial Meningitis vaccination, during the five-year period prior to enrollment.

TSI Assessment

Complete the Texas Success Initiative Assessment (TSIA2) college-readiness exam.

  • Click Here for Assessment & Testing Office hours and testing information. Located in Fletcher Administration Center (1st Floor). Please bring a current, valid photo ID.

  • TSIA is currently free for:
    - Students completing the TSIA for the first-time
    - Students with expired TSI or other placement scores


  • Exemptions from TSIA exam placement may apply (SAT, ACT, etc.) Click Here for a list of exemptions.

New Student Orientation (NSO)

Attend SAC New Student Orientation (NSO).

New Student Orientation (NSO) is an informative presentation that welcomes students attending San Antonio College for the first time.

  • SAC NSO is required for:
    First-time college students and transfer students with less than 7 credit hours.

NSO Options

  • Campus NSO: held in-person on the SAC campus. Group Advising (GA) and class registration included in session.
  • Online NSO: completed via Canvas portal in ACES. Group Advising (GA) and class registration held separately, virtually via Zoom.

Advising & Registration

Meet with an Academic Advisor to register for classes.

  • First-time college students and transfer students with less than 7 credit hours will attend a Group Advising session after New Student Orientation (NSO). (See the above NSO section.)

  • Transfer students with 7 credit hours or more, returning Alamo Colleges District students, and transient students can attend "Drop-In Advising" sessions or schedule an appointment with their assigned Academic Advisor.

Payment

Pay tuition and fees after class registration.

  • View account balance and make payments via your ACES account.
    Make payments ahead of deadlines to avoid having classes dropped.
