Grant Scholarships

T-STEM Challenge Scholarship Program

Through a grant from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, San Antonio College will award scholarships to full-time students pursuing science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and select Allied Health degrees. Scholarship awards will be for amounts of $2,500 for the year ($1,000 awarded at the end of the Fall and Spring semesters, and $500 awarded at the end of the summer semester).Incomplete applications, such as those missing high school transcripts will not be considered.

Requirements for consideration include:    

  • Be a declared major in Biology, Sciences, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, Math, or select Allied Health
  • Be a SAC student as listed on your unofficial transcript
  • Submit an official high school transcript to the T-STEM Liaison
  • Have a minimum high school GPA of 3.0 in math and science courses
  • Agree to complete 30 hours during the current Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on your current college transcript (if applicable)
  • Complete 80% of coursework per semester
  • Complete other scholarship requirements
  • Financial need is not required
  • Men between the ages of 18 and 25 must be registered with the Selective Service System:   https://www.sss.gov/RegVer/wfRegistration.aspx
