San Antonio College will celebrate Women’s History Month with the theme “Ain’t I a Woman?” throughout the month of March. The Women’s History Month Committee will have events both in person and online.

Exhibit & Film The Truth
Watch The Truth, a film about Sojourner Truth, and write a short reflection or essay to win prizes or a scholarship. Essays due Wednesday, March 23.

Feminist Flash Fiction & Free Verse Contest
This year’s theme highlights Sojourner Truth’s famous 1851 speech at the Women’s Rights Convention and the intersectionality of feminist identity. Using this theme, develop a creative piece that examines the complexity of modern feminism. Submissions are due Wednesday, March 23. For more information go to https://bit.ly/FeministFlashFiction

Professor Martha S. Jones has been called "the political historian of African American women." Join Dr. Lisa Ramos for a sandwich and an introduction to Dr. Jones' latest book in which she reminds us yet again that without Black women the United States would not be as democratic.

Join representatives from Planned Parenthood and the Lilith Fund for a discussion of Senate Bill 8, its devastating consequences, and strategies for fighting back. As the assault against reproductive freedom intensifies in Texas and the United States, it is imperative to support the right of women to full reproductive choice and bodily autonomy.
