SAC Diversity Highlighted with Top 100 ‘Diverse’ Rankings

San Antonio College, a Hispanic Serving Institution since 1985, has once again topped the charts for the nation’s Top 100 Degree Producers for minority students. 

According to Diverse: Issues In Higher Education, San Antonio College earned the #9 ranking in the nation for degrees awarded to Hispanics. SAC also ranked #15 in the country for degrees awarded to all minorities. In addition, SAC has achieved a ranking of #5 or better in multiple categories, including: biology, architecture, finance, public administration and social services. 

Associates Degrees in Biological and Biomedical Sciences

    • #1 ranking for total minority
    • #1 ranking for Hispanic
    • #3 ranking for African American
    • #4 ranking for Asian and 2 or more races

Associates Degrees in Architecture and Related Services

    • #1 ranking for two or more races
    • #2 ranking for total minority
    • #3 ranking for Hispanic
    • #5 ranking for Asian  

Associates Degrees in Finance and Financial Management

    • #2 ranking for Hispanic 

Associates Degrees in Public Administration and Social Service Professions

    • #3 ranking for Hispanic 

SAC also ranked #4 for Hispanic students in Business and Commerce, Engineering, and Visual and Performing Arts and #5 for total minority in Business and Commerce.   

The rankings are based off of Diverse: Issues in Higher Education analysis of U.S. Department of Education reports submitted by institutions from the 2016-2017 academic year.
