TheDream.US Program Offering Scholarships to Undocumented Students

TheDream.US, the country’s largest college access program for DREAMers, is now accepting applications for their National Scholarship program to provide financial support to undocumented students in high school and community college.

National scholarship help is available for Dreamers who came to the United States before Nov. 1, 2016. The national scholarship award is for college or high school students who have DACA, TPS, or otherwise meet DACA eligibility criteria.

The scholarship will cover tuition and fees to a maximum of $16,500 for an associate degree and $33,000 for a bachelor’s degree at one of more that 70 partner colleges. SAC is college partner of TheDream.US program. Some recipients will also receive an additional $1,000 per year for books, supplies, and transportation.

The Empowerment Center at San Antonio College will offer workshops to help students with the National Scholarship application process. Help in Spanish will also be available to students who have questions or need assistance with the application process.

Dates for the workshops are:

• Monday, Nov. 22, from 1 to 4 p.m.
• Thursday, Jan. 6, from 1 to 4 p.m.
• Monday, Feb. 21, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
