Quality Texas Foundation Honors SAC
Alamo Colleges District - San Antonio College (SAC) was recently recognized among 15 organizations for the Quality Texas Foundation's awards and recognitions when it comes to demonstrating strong dedication to quality and high performance. SAC earned Progress Level Recognition.
"For the past three years, we have taken deliberate action to fulfill our district-wide mission to be the best in the nation," said Dr. Vela, President of San Antonio College. "Engaging in the Quality Texas self-assessment for continuous improvement has provided the College an opportunity to bring to light much of the great work we have done and continue to do."
Quality Texas helps businesses, hospitals, schools, government agencies and non-profits improve performance. The organization educates, trains, assesses, provides feedback, and recognizes organizations committed to a journey of excellence and continuous improvement. Using the Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence, Quality Texas aims to improve efficiency and effectiveness to save jobs, improve communities and create a stronger state and nation.
Other awardees in the Progress Level category include: The City of Austin's Building Services Department, Peterson Regional Medical Center in Kerrville and Radiation Detection Company from Georgetown. SAC's sister school, St. Philip's College, was also recognized earning the Achievement Level status.
