What is UpSkill?

Alamo Colleges District designed UpSkill to help workers upskill and reskill quickly by earning industry-recognized professional certificates

Are these Professional Certificates really 100% online? Do I need to attend any classes in person?

Professional Certificates are entirely online, so there’s no need to show up to a classroom in person. You can access your lectures, readings, and assignments anytime and anywhere via the web or your mobile device. An instructor does not teach these courses; instead, they are self-directed.

What is the refund policy?

There are no refunds for Professional Certificate purchases.

How much do the Professional Certificates cost?

You can purchase six months of access for $179 upfront giving you plenty of time to earn your Professional Certificate.

Do I need to take the courses in the Professional Certificate in a specific order?

We highly recommend taking the courses of each certificate program in the order presented, as the content builds on information from earlier courses.

How long does it take to complete the Professional Certificates?

This information varies by Professional Certificate, and it varies by how many hours per week you spend working on course materials. Please visit the individual Professional Certificate webpages for an estimate of how long it takes an average learner to complete the coursework.

Will I get help finding a new job?

Google and Meta have exclusive career networks available to you upon completion.

Completing a Meta Professional Certificate grants you access to the Meta Certification Career Network - a job search platform for graduates and certified professionals to connect with over 120 top employers.

Completing a Google Professional Certificate grants you access to the Google Career Certificates Employer Consortium, which consists of over 150 U.S. companies.

Alamo Colleges District provides accessible, affordable, on-demand, online courses which stack into a professional certificate. These courses prepare you for a new career in high-growth fields. These course learning experiences help workers like you upskill and reskill quickly based on you completing work weekly according to course suggestions.

An instructor does not teach these self-paced, self-directed courses. If you want courses taught by an instructor, email your Enrollment Coach at AlamoONLINE@alamo.edu so the Coach can share more about those offerings.

These offerings provide you a chance to earn a micro-credential showcasing your mastery of knowledge, skills, and abilities to hiring employers in San Antonio. Completion of a course or training pathway does not guarantee employment. Some possible careers may require you to continue to a degree program offered by one of our five Alamo Colleges. Courses are non-credit and do not automatically transfer to one of the five Alamo Colleges.
