8th Annual Two-Year College National Qualifiers Ethics Bowl

Association for Practical and Professional Ethics (APPE) Annual Two-Year Colleges National Qualifiers Ethics Bowl

St. Philip’s College will host the upcoming national qualifying Ethics Bowl competition to be held Saturday, November 23, 2019, in the Sutton Learning Center. This event will bring together two-year college teams from around the nation to find out who goes to Nationals.

Each team receives a set of cases which raise issues in practical and professional ethics in advance of the competition and prepare an analysis of each case. At the competition, a moderator poses questions, based on a case taken from that set to teams of three to five students. Questions may concern ethical problems on wide ranging topics such as classroom, personal relationships, professional ethics, or social and political ethics. A panel of three judges rates the stance, reasoning, and communication skills of each team.
