A photograph of the Saint Artemisia Bowden mosaic dedicated at the Ellis Alley Enclave restoration project site in October is part of a June 9 San Antonio Express News report. The report describes an art exhibition opening at the six-building historic site that earned VIA Metropolitan Transit a 2016 Honor Award from Preservation Texas. According to the San Antonio Express News report Historic East Side settlement recognized, A set of panels on view in the office of San Antonio for Growth on the East Side and the VIA Metropolitan Transit & Ride Center on Chestnut Street highlights the history of Ellis Alley… Titled “Ellis Alley: The Cradle of East Side Culture,” the panels tell the story of important figures in the community and events that shaped the area.
