Ethnobotany and The Social Influence of the Community Garden
As a guest speaker within the S.T.R.E.A.M. Lecture and Performing Arts Series, ethnobotanist Maeve Bassett will deliver a presentation entitled, “Living, Breathing and Inspiring: Ethnobotany and The Social Influence of the Community Garden.” A discussion will follow. The presentation will focus on the ethnobotany of South Texas and the social and cultural functions of community gardens, with special attention to the social, cultural, and aesthetic value of the San Antonio Botanical Garden and its Frida Kahlo exhibition.
