About Dr. David Beck

Dr. David Beck, Professor of History at the University of Montana, is an award-winning historian who has published several books on the impacts of federal Indian policy on Indigenous communities, including Seeking Recognition: The Termination and Restoration of the Coos, Lower Umpqua and Siuslaw Indians, 1855-1984. He has also written about urban American Indian history and American Indian labor and economics. He is a professor in the University of Montana Native American Studies Department.
