What is the Electrical Trades program?

The Electrical Trades program at St. Philip’s College provides quality education to individuals pursuing a career in the electrical field. The program implements classroom, laboratory, and on the job training to ensure students gain the necessary knowledge and experience to be successful. We understand that our students come from a diverse background of education and experience and offer a variety of educational paths and options so that you may tailor your education to your background and interests.

What will I learn?

Basic AC-DC, residential wiring, commercial wiring, industrial wiring, motor controls, programmable logic controllers, transformers and electrical codes.

What can I do with this course of study?

Electrical Apprentice, Residential Wiremen Journeyman Electrician, Commerial Electrician, Appliance Electrician Serviceman, Formen, Supervisor.

What's special about the program?

The Allied Construction Trades Department provides workforce training that meets or exceed certifications requirements from national organizations like the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER), American Welding Society (AWS), Plumbing and Heating and Cooling Contractors (PHCC), The North American Coard of Energy Practitioners (NABCEP).

 The program prepares students to service existing electrical service and install electrical systems in new construction.
