OPEN TO COVERAGE THIS WEEKEND: IV INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS OF GASTRONOMY EDUCATORS SYMPOSIUM RECEPTION, OPENING AND KEYNOTE ADDRESS EVENTS AT ST. PHILIP’S COLLEGE

WHAT: Two receptions and one keynote address during the U.S.A.’s turn in an international economic development program led by hospitality schools in countries where gastronomy is an economic engine. Each of the three IV International Congress of Gastronomy Educators events are open to press coverage over two days with the following schedule at St. Philip’s College:

 

  • Friday, Oct. 19 Opening Reception hosted by St. Philip’s College President Dr. Adena Williams Loston from 5-7 p.m. in Room 216 of the Turbon Student Center at 1801 Martin Luther King Drive, followed by the Opening Reception of the St. Philip’s College Homecoming also hosted by St. Philip’s College President Dr. Adena Williams Loston from 7-8 p.m. in the Bowden Alumni Center of the G. J. Sutton Learning Center at 1801 Martin Luther King Drive 
  • Saturday, Oct. 20 Symposium Opening Welcome remarks by Dr. Adena Williams Loston, President of St. Philip’s College and Chef Will Thornton, chair of the college’s Hospitality, Tourism, and Culinary Arts program, from 8:30-9 a.m. in the Heritage Room of the St. Philip’s College Campus Center building at 1801 Martin Luther King Drive, followed by theSymposium Keynote Address themed “300 Years at the Crossroads of the Borderlands” by Chef Elizabeth Johnson in the Heritage Room of the St. Philip’s College Campus Center building at 1801 Martin Luther King Drive.
