St. Philip’s College hosted the Spring 2020 STEM Lecture Series titled Valiant Women in STEM Fields on March 4, 2020. The event featured SPC’s own, President Dr. Loston, Dr. Stacie Koonhow, Karen McGill, Roxanne Perez and Maria Rodriguez.

The panelist encouraged students to pursue their interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics while sharing their journeys and experiences in overcoming adversities.

As Dr. Koonhow’s favorite quote says, “If there is no struggle, there is no progress.” - Frederick Douglass

The STEM Lecture Series is one of several featured events taking place in observance of Women’s History Month. The events celebrate the contributions of women in history and contemporary society. Click here to view the official SPC Women’s History Month web page.
