Meet Jerome, he will be receiving an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Accounting Technology.

Jerome is originally from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, located in central Africa. At the age of 14, he, his mother, and ten siblings immigrated to the United States in hope of a better future.

His siblings have played a significant role in the completion of his program. He explained, “Everything I do is to motivate them and ensure they have a good example. As the oldest and first-generation graduate, I hope to encourage them to attend college and guide them when it is their time to apply.”

Jerome attributes his interest in finance from his personal experience with building a financial foundation to support his college expenses. He hopes to become an advisor to individuals seeking to strengthen or achieve financial wellness.

Jerome plans to attend The University of Texas at San Antonio and pursue a bachelor's degree in accounting.

In his free time, he enjoys playing the piano and serves as part of the worship team at The Door Christian Fellowship Church.
