Graduate Spotlight: Julieta Nations

May 4, 2021

Meet Julieta, she will be receiving an Associate of Applied Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.

Julieta’s decision to pursue sonography was influenced by her personal experience, “I had a great encounter with a sonographer, they made me feel comfortable," she said. "I also loved that they took the time to get to know me while they were doing the exam and now, I will get to do the same with my clients.”

Although it was a difficult transition to go back to school, the support of her husband, 18-year-old son and 13-year-old daughter encouraged and motivated her to carry through.

Julieta's decision to attend St. Philip’s College came naturally as she has spent most of her life in San Antonio’s Eastside. “I grew up in this area, I always saw the campus and the students. I knew that one day I would go to SPC, it felt like home,” she said.

During her time at St. Philip’s College, Julieta volunteered in many on-campus events such as the Culture Fest and Rib Cook-Off and the Good Samaritan Veterans Outreach and Transition Center Veterans Service Fair. Her academic achievements have also led to her participation in the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.

Upon graduation, Julieta hopes to focus on preparing to take the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography ARDM(S) exam. She is eager to go straight into the workforce and begin a professional career in sonography.
