One Year Later, Reflections From Our SPC Family

May 19, 2021

March 2021 marked one year since the coronavirus breached Texas borders. By then, COVID-19 had been declared as a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization.

In reaction to the virus, institutions across the world switched to virtual learning and remote work, with staff, faculty, and students quickly adapting to an entirely new way of life.

A year later, schools are looking at slowly transitioning from what has now become the new normal. For the Alamo Colleges District (ACD), the Fall 2021 COVID Response includes a slow and careful return to campuses by August. With safety as the top priority, up to 75% of instruction will be face-to-face.

As our college works towards transitioning back to campus following the ACD Fall 2021 COVID Response Plan, we reflect on the past year+ with our One Year of Covid video project. One Year of Covid includes video interviews featuring our St. Philip’s College Family as we look back on how the pandemic upended the education landscape in the past year, what it’s taught us personally and professionally, and where we go from here.

Watch the One Year of Covid video project below. We invite you to share your story with us here.
