ST. PHILIP’S COLLEGE GRADUATION CEREMONY IN THE NEWS (SEGUIN TODAY)

The St. Philip's College Spring 2018 commencement ceremony May 11 at 7 p.m. in Freeman Coliseum at 3201 E. Houston St. is of strong historic interest to news audiences in Seguin this morning.

Seguin Today has published an article on the history making first class of the college’s St. Philip’s College Early College High School with Seguin Independent School District, the class of 2018.

According to the Seguin Today report, “Four years ago, Seguin High School presented to each of its students an academic road map that echoed the phrase "Transformation Starts Here." That road map today has students finally arriving to their destination -- a destination that has them graduating from college before high school. Thanks to Seguin's Early College High School Campus, 31 SHS seniors this Friday night will be participating in the St. Phillip's College graduation ceremony at the Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio.”

The Seguin students are among many being honored during the St. Philip's College Spring 2018 commencement ceremony May 11 at 7 p.m. in Freeman Coliseum at 3201 E. Just in time for the city’s Tricentennial, students from a history-making three separate St. Philip’s College early college high school classes will walk the stage, including first classes from the St. Philip’s College Early College High School with San Antonio Independent School District and the St. Philip’s College Early College High School with Seguin Independent School District. They will be joined by the 2018 class of students from Alamo Colleges-Memorial Early College High School (Comal Independent School District) to receive a record bevy of St. Philip’s College degrees and certificates before they graduate from high school.
