I want to take the time to express my gratitude to the H-E-B scholarship donors! My name is Theresa Noblitt, and I am an H-E-B scholar. I am extremely grateful to accept this scholarship award; it means a great deal to me. I currently attend San Antonio College for my Associate of Arts in Accounting Business Administration. As a youth, I was a ward of the state with no proper knowledge of personal finances. That became a major weakness in my life and was the root of many issues I have faced. Financial knowledge is a major factor in the wellbeing of a person’s life, and I learned that the hard way. After getting into entrepreneurship I learned yet another hard lesson about how important it is to be able to manage my own finances. That is why I began my journey majoring in accounting.
During my free time outside of class, I spend most of my time with my two boys. They are my entire world, and I happily raise them as a single mother. Through attending school, I intend to show them how hard work and dedication pay off. Outside of spending time with my children, I like to volunteer helping the less fortunate. It is a belief of mine that everyone needs help every now and again. One thing can knock a person off their feet, and it is our job as a community to assist them back upon their feet judgement free. You never know what the next person endures on their own or struggles with, and everyone deserves someone caring to give them a helping hand.
After I graduate in May 2027 from San Antonio College I plan to continue my education, and transfer to UT Austin for their renowned accounting program. I want to position myself there because I believe I will have the most success in my career goals attending one of the most prestigious programs for accounting at a public college. I will obtain my bachelor’s degree and continue to eventually obtain my master’s degree within my field of study. Ultimately, I will use my education to start my own accounting firm helping new graduates with employment. Furthermore, I will use my education to educate underserved communities in financial stability and wellbeing. It is a passion of mine to pay it forward to the next person in need.
Finally, I want to say I am so appreciative to be chosen as a recipient for the H-E-B scholarship. Thank you to H-E-B for making this possible. Without you, life would be that much more difficult. You have alleviated an immense pressure off my shoulders and knowing there are people who care warms my heart even further. Thank you, again from the bottom of my heart, I’ll never be able to fully express to you how much of a difference you have made in my life.
