Dear H-E-B, I am truly honored and grateful to be selected as an H-E-B Scholar. Thank you for investing in my education and believing in students like me who are working toward building a better future. As a San Antonio native, H-E-B has always been a familiar and trusted part of my community. I also shop there for my groceries every week, so receiving a scholarship from a company that has been part of my everyday life makes this opportunity especially meaningful to me.

Palo Alto College has always been my college of choice. Many years ago, I made the mistake of not attending classes and not finishing what I started. As I have grown, I have realized how important it is to finish what I began and pursue the purpose I have for my life. Receiving financial aid and scholarships has reassured me that this is my time to complete my education. The support I have received has not only made college financially possible, but has also inspired me to keep going and believe that I can accomplish this goal.

I decided to further my education because I see a lack of servant leadership in the workplace. I believe in encouraging others, speaking life into people, and leading by serving rather than simply by having a title or position. I am excited to bring that mindset into the workplace and hopefully make a positive difference in the lives of the people I have the opportunity to lead and work alongside.

Outside the classroom, much of my time is spent working for the Transportation Department with Southwest ISD, caring for my family, and serving at my church. Balancing work, family, church, and college has challenged me to become more disciplined and intentional with my time. These responsibilities have also strengthened my determination to continue my education and pursue the goals I have set for myself.

I want to be a servant leader who creates a workplace where people feel valued, encouraged, and supported. I want my career to be about more than simply completing tasks. I want to use my education and my strengths to encourage others and make a lasting difference.

The H-E-B Scholarship will make a meaningful difference in my education by easing the financial responsibility of pursuing my degree. More importantly, it reminds me that others believe in my potential and encourages me to continue moving forward. I am grateful for H-E-B's commitment to supporting students and helping make higher education possible.
