What is the World Languages program?

The Department of World Languages offers classes in a diverse range of world languages: Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Latin, and Spanish. Our faculty possess extensive experience teaching languages with specialized degrees in their discipline from prestigious universities.

What will I learn?

The courses in the department of World Languages are taught with an emphasis on the four skills: speaking, reading, writing and listening, as well as an overall encompassing presentation of culture within the Hispanic world.

What can I do with this course of study?

Students that have graduated from SAC with a focus in languages are able to transfer into four-year universities having completed their foreign language requirements. Language studies have assisted students in a variety of careers such as the medical field, business and criminal justice to name a few.

What's special about program?

Our department was recently granted a Confucius Classroom from the Chinese Government which will contain state-of-the-art technology to promote the Chinese language and culture to the San Antonio College students and community.
