SPC LOOKS GREAT IN BRONZE: ST. PHILIP’S COLLEGE BUSINESS UNIT IS INCLUDED IN A US NEWS & WORLD REPORT NATIONAL RANKING

A four-year-old St. Philip's College business unit is included in a US News & World Report National Ranking this week.

The St. Philip's College business unit is the St. Philip’s College Early College High School with San Antonio Independent School District.

The business unit earned a bronze medal ranking from US News & World Report. According to the online ranking, "Schools are ranked based on their performance on state-required tests and how well they prepare students for college.”

Dr. Derrick Thomas has been principal of the school since it opened in August 2014 on the campus of the 120-year-old college, providing students with a blended high school-college experience.

"Congratulations faculty for making this happen," Thomas wrote to his team in an internal note. "Your hard work is finally being recognized," Thomas wrote in response to the San Antonio ISD announcement that four of its schools that include the St. Philip's College school are among US News & World Report’s top-ranked high schools in the state and nation.
