From student to leader—Bridgette is paving the way with courage and commitment
Bridgette Ellis is a proud San Antonian and first-generation college student who has embraced her academic journey with purpose, passion, and perseverance. She received her Associate of Arts in Business Administration from St. Philip’s College in spring 2025 and is continuing her education by pursuing a Bachelor of Applied Science in Business Operations at Palo Alto College, beginning summer 2025.
Although Bridgette began her career in the medical field, she felt called to explore a new path. With the support of her mentors, family, and the Alamo Colleges community, she made the courageous decision to pivot into the world of business. This leap of faith reaffirmed her belief that it’s never too late to change direction and pursue a career aligned with her passion and purpose. She is now focused on creating a lasting impact in her community and in the fields of higher education and business.
"It is truly an honor to be considered for such a meaningful scholarship, and your contribution is making a significant difference in my education and future aspirations. As a business major with a strong passion for higher education and student success, I am committed to making the most of every opportunity that comes my way. "
Bridgette is also a recipient of the prestigious Masters Leadership Program (MLP) Scholarship, which supports students with a strong passion for community service and service learning.
On campus, Bridgette is an active leader. She serves in Student Government and is a dedicated member of the Student Leadership Institute (SLI). Through SLI, which is focused on developing leadership skills and preparing students for service on campus and in the broader community, Bridgette has taken part in activities that provide hands-on experience in project management, communication, and collaboration. These experiences have helped her grow as a leader and deepened her commitment to community involvement.
Family is at the heart of Bridgette’s motivation, “My mom, my children, and my mentors are what drive me,” she says. “They believe in me, and that belief inspires me to keep pushing forward.”
As she continues her educational journey, Bridgette remains committed to using her voice, her skills, and her leadership to give back—to her family, her college, and her city. Thanks to the support of the MLP Scholarship, she is well on her way to making a lasting difference in San Antonio and beyond.
