Grant Funding for Employers - Skills Development Fund

Alamo Technical Institute partners with Texas Workforce Commission on the Skills Development Fund for Customized Training for Texas Employers

The purpose is to assist businesses by financing the design and implementation of customized job-training projects. The goal of the Skills Development Fund is to increase the skills level and wages of the Texas workforce.

  • Cost per trainee target of $2,400
  • Customize training to fit business’s needs
  • Training for full-time employees
  • 12-month grant term

Grant Funding for Employers - Skills for Small Business

Alamo Colleges District is a proud partner of the TWC Skills for Small Business Grant. Through the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) Skills for Small Business program, up to $2 million from the Skills Development Fund is dedicated to the backbone of Texas' business community—our small employers.

  • Skills for Small Business emphasizes training newly hired employees, those who have been hired by the business up to twelve months prior to the date that TWC receives an application.
  • The program pays up to $2,000 for each new employee being trained and $1000 for existing employees per contract.
  • Funding for training is for full-time, regular employees.

Vendor Development Academy

The Vendor Development Academy is a 12-month, no-cost program administered through a partnership between the City of San Antonio and Alamo Colleges District.
