Providing Quality Child Care Services

If you need reliable child care services accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children while attending school, Ray Ellison Family Center is the place. We provide quality child care services with a trained and experienced staff.

About the Ray Ellison Family Center (REFC)

Palo Alto College is not only a college, but a crossroads where the community can come together. Education and parenting can be difficult, which is why the college features the Ray Ellison Family Center, a home away from home child care and developmental services center for children and community.

REFC is located at Palo Alto College and is licensed to provide services to 66 children daily between the ages of 18 months to 5 years old.

The Ray Ellison Charitable Trust Fund, through the San Antonio Area Foundation, provided a $200,000 grant for the initial construction of the center. The center opened its doors on October 3, 2001, as a way to unite the surrounding Palo Alto community to higher education in San Antonio’s South Side. Without the stress of child care and development services, students have found focus in their studies as well as residents in their labor.

The purpose of the Ray Ellison Family Center is to provide a high quality early childhood program that supports the growth, development, and education of children and their families while creating a model of quality early childhood education and a center for training early childhood professionals within the broader San Antonio Community.
