Dance At Palo Alto College

Palo Alto College offers an Associate Degree (AA) in Dance. The department offers students an opportunity to investigate the dance field and supports them in finding their own unique role within the field, The program gives an opportunity to complete the first two years of study towards a BA or a BFA, explores career options, and to become a more educated patron of the arts. The Palo Alto College dance program places emphasis on building skills in technique (contemporary, ballet, folk), performance, production, teaching and leadership.

Dance Performance at Palo Alto College

The Palo Alto Dance Program offers a range of classes from recreational dance for non-majors to serious training for those who are pursuing a career in the dance field. The Palo Alto Dance Program supports the PACDance Performance Group and requires rigorous performance and rehearsal training. Each year students are given opportunity to present dance choreography in our annual fall concert series, Dances in Progress. PACDance Performance Group has attended the American College Dance Festival (ACDFA) and recently, the Texas Dance Improvisation Festival (TDIF). Palo Alto College dance program provides performance opportunities several times throughout the academic year both on and off campus to participating PACDance Performance Group members.

Dance Leadership at Palo Alto College

The Palo Alto College PACDance Performance Group also encourages leadership through the PACDance Student Council. PACDance Performance Group annually elects officials to represent the Group though out the Palo Alto College campus, initiate dance department fundraisers, create fun activities for participating PACDance members and serve as liaison between the program director and PACDance members.
