Continuing Your Journey in Higher Education

Now that you’re an AlamoPROMISE Scholar, we’re here to help you stay on track, meet program requirements, and move confidently toward your degree and career goals.

As an AlamoPROMISE Scholar, it's important to stay connected through your student alamo.edu email for updates.

Maintaining your AlamoPROMISE Status

To support your success at the Alamo Colleges and beyond, we want you to maintain your AlamoPROMISE Scholar status. Utilize the following eligibility criteria for program continuation:

Continuous Enrollment

AlamoPROMISE Scholars must maintain continuous enrollment for up to six consecutive Fall and Spring semesters. AlamoPROMISE does not apply for Summer terms.

Annual Financial Aid Application

AlamoPROMISE Scholars must maintain Financial Aid eligibility. Current scholars must submit their FAFSA or TASFA, complete financial aid verification, and/or provide any other financial documents requested by the Student Financial Aid Office every year they are in the AlamoPROMISE program.

Students should submit their financial aid applications each year before the May 1 priority date. Applications received after the priority date will be considered for the program on a space-available basis.

Satisfactory Academic Progress

AlamoPROMISE Scholars must meet and maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) to participate in AlamoPROMISE.

Program of Study Requirement

AlamoPROMISE Scholars must pursue courses in their Program of Study (POS)/official degree plan.

Students can take courses outside of their official degree plan, but they have to pay for courses out of pocket. Financial aid and AlamoPROMISE funding will not cover courses outside their degree plan. Scholars should meet with their Certified Academic Advisor to discuss their official degree plan and any questions about which courses count toward their degree.

Credit Hours Requirement

AlamoPROMISE Scholars are encouraged to complete at least 18 credit hours during the Fall and Spring semesters (9 hours per semester).

Additional Requirements

Complete any other program requirements communicated by the AlamoPROMISE Program Office to the Scholar’s student.alamo.edu email account.

AlamoPROMISE Scholars not meeting the requirements may be subject to having their AlamoPROMISE eligibility revoked for the subsequent semester.

Any notices regarding a change in AlamoPROMISE status will be communicated by the AlamoPROMISE Program Office to the student's official alamo.edu email account.
