What is the Scholarship office?

The Alamo Colleges Foundation Scholarship Office at SAC offers eligible students a one-time per academic year on-line application to be considered for numerous Internal Alamo Colleges Scholarships.  (Click link to view available Internal Scholarships.)

Scholarship Application Priority Deadline is APRIL 15th, 2012 

 A Second Deadline for 2012-2013 Consideration is SEPTEMBER 15th, 2012 (to be considered for any additional scholarships that may become available)

Services available?

 Advice, tips, and resources for submitting an effective scholarship application:

• You must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

• Type your essays in MS Word or Works in order to run spell check and word count.  Then copy and paste the essays into the scholarship application.
  •  
   
• Visit the SAC Writing Center  in Gonzales Hall, Room 203 to ensure your essay is perfect!  (click link for more info)

How does it benefit me?

At Alamo Colleges, we recognize the importance of a quality education and are dedicated to helping you find a way to achieve your higher education goals.

SAC students have the opportunity to apply for:

•  Internal Scholarships-- these are Alamo Colleges Foundation scholarships which are only available to students attending one of the Alamo Colleges. 

   

• Academic Department Scholarships -- some SAC academic departments also administer their own scholarship programs and therefore have separate applications.  

• Check with the department of your major to learn of scholarships you may be eligible for and obtain an application. 

• You may also check the Departmental Scholarships  web page (click link) for any department info or updates received in our office.

• External Scholarships -- these are Non-Alamo Colleges scholarships which are available to students attending any college.  
  • External scholarships information can be found through local, state, or nationwide searches (www.saafdn.org/NetCommunity, www.everychanceeverytexan.org/funding/, www.thesalliemaefund.org, www.fastweb.com, www.collegeboard.com, www.collegenet.com, www.scholarships.com).
