The Center for
Distance Learning provides support services for students and faculty
engaged in a variety of distance learning formats to ensure
opportunities for student success.
||The Center for Distance Learning provides support for students taking online and hybrid classes. We offer face-to-face and online overviews on Instructure Canvas. An open computer lab is provided for students to access their classes. We also assist students with technical questions. In order for us to improve our services, please complete the survey.
Free Student Resources
The Center for Distance Learning has put together a list of
resources that will help students succeed in college. Student resources include
how to sync your ACES email to your phone, free MS Office 365, online library, online tutoring, how to get your
computer ready for classes, technical training and much more. To get

Helpful Information for Students
St. Philip's College uses Instructure Canvas (LMS) as the standard platform for delivery of online, hybrid, and web-enhanced classes. For more information about Canvas, see the Canvas Student Guide. For faculty information on Canvas go to the Instructional Innovation Center website.
Orientation to Online Learning (OLRN)
To get a successful start with your online classes, first-time online students are required to complete the Orientation to Online Learning (OLRN 0001) course. This free, non-credit course familiarizes students with navigating through the online system for a successful start.
Register for the self-paced, fully online OLRN course the same way as any other course. See the quick guide for steps on registering for the course.
You can also attend a face-to-face session to complete the OLRN course. See dates and times below.
