International Students

Why do international students choose the Alamo Colleges District? Our colleges have a reputation for academic excellence. With smaller class sizes, students can learn in a supportive and collaborative learning environment. 

The Alamo Colleges District hosts students from many regions of the world. These students represent countries such as Mexico, South Korea, Vietnam, India, Colombia, Japan, Thailand, Morocco, Brazil, Mongolia, and Nepal. 

The Alamo Colleges District also provide international students the opportunity to transfer to a four-year university to complete a bachelor’s degree and for some to attend graduate school. International Student Services (ISS) offers comprehensive assistance to international students who choose to attend one of the five Alamo Colleges.

International Student Services has a qualified staff of professionals who are available to offer comprehensive assistance to international students regarding admissions processing, immigration advising, and student health service options.

Deadline for Spring (January): Oct. 1

International Transfer Students
Deadline for Fall (August): July 1 
Deadline for Spring (January): Dec. 1 

Admissions

International students must have a completed I-20 in order to be granted a student (F-1) VISA. The application process from start to finish varies from country to country and from individual to individual. Due to the nature and complexity of documents, perspective students should expect the application process to take between one (1) and three (3) months from start to finish.
