Project Avance
Project Avance was developed to increase student success, enrollment, and retention through experiential learning. We will achieve these goals by enhancing student support, growing partnerships, and enriching learning.
We will take a programmatic approach when reaching these goals through Summer Bridge Camps, Lunch and Learns, Career Fairs, and off campus Career Tours. These programs will introduce students to Industry Speakers and possible career paths beyond higher learning.
We will also provide students with new experiential learning opportunities through the construction of a STEM & Agriculture Experiential Learning Center.
Project Avance Summer Bridge ProgramThe Project Avance Summer Bridge program is a 2-week experience for incoming STEM freshmen. It offers classes in chemistry and biology, campus tours, advising, faculty and industry talks, hands-on activities, peer advisor engagement, and local industry tours to explore STEM careers. |
STEM & Agriculture Experiential Learning CenterProject Avance will establish and equip a new STEM & Agriculture Experiential Learning Center in which the main function will be hands-on learning that aligns with STEM courses offered here at Palo Alto College. |
