The Assessment & Testing Center provides testing services including test administration of the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) Assessment for college placement and for TSI requirements, College-Level Examination Program (CLEP), and Alamo Colleges District makeup/distance examinations (with instructor approval and Testing Center acknowledgement).
Testing is by appointment only. Students are limited to one testing appointment per day; students taking TSI or CLEP must bring a valid photo ID and a printed copy of payment receipt to appointment. All testing fees are non-refundable.
Please call (210) 486-3444 during normal business hours if you have questions. Students unable to make an appointment for distance/make-up tests should contact their instructor for arrangements. Due to the high demand for seats, students with appointments will have priority.

Hooded sweaters are allowd in the testing area, but hoods must remain off all all times. Backpacks, laptops, and oversized purses are not allowed in the test area and will not be stored by Testing Center personnel. Please leave these items in your car or at home. Texas law requires students to complete assessments in reading, writing, and mathematics before enrolling in college. The Texas Success Initiative (TSI) mandates that any new undergraduate student entering a public institution must be assessed for readiness to enroll in college coursework.
The Alamo Colleges District recognizes the credit-granting scores recommended by the American Council on Education (ACE). Students can be granted a maximum of 45 hours of non-course based credit (i.e. CLEP and/or AP). Credit will be awarded when a student has successfully completed as least six (6) credit hours from one of the Alamo Colleges.
Palo Alto College provides proctoring services for Alamo Colleges Distance Education instructors and their students. Examinations are administered in a secure, proctored environment.
Students with a documented disability that need accommodations for TSI, make-up and/or distance testing may contact Disability Support Services (DSS) in advance. For more information regarding documentation requirements, students may call DSS at 210-486-3020.
