Veterans Affairs
The Office of Veterans Affairs assists all military-affiliated students in obtaining financial assistance and information on Veterans Benefits while they attend Palo Alto College. The college participates in educational programs provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs. These programs include:

Please Note: Incomplete or inaccurate VA Enrollment Certification Request Form submissions will be declined, resulting in delayed processing times and resubmission of the request. Certification of classes taken at other Alamo College campuses is subject to the processing times at the other institution. The PAC-VA Office will submit Parent Letters at the time of processing.

Note: Chapter 30, Chapter 1606, Chapter 33, and Chapter 35 users must verify with the VA at the end of every month to receive payment on a timely basis.
The Office of Veterans Affairs also assists Texas veterans in obtaining the Hazlewood Act. This program exempts the qualified individual from payment of all tuition and most fees.
Students taking courses at multiple campus (on-campus and on-line) and using their Hazlewood Exemption benefits, must complete the payment process at their home campus.

Executive Order 13607
Palo Alto College is a signatory to the Presidential Executive Order – Establishing Principles of Excellence for Educational Institutions Serving Service Members, Veterans, Spouses, and Other Family Members; and the “8 Keys to Veterans’ Success” which are steps that postsecondary institutions can take to assist Veterans and Servicemembers in transitioning to higher education, completing their college programs, and obtaining career-ready skills.
- If you served on Active Duty, you might be eligible for education benefits offered by the Department of Veterans Affairs. For example, the Post-9/11 GI Bill® provides financial support for educational and housing expenses to individuals with at least 90 days of aggregate service after September 10, 2001, or individuals discharged with a service-connected disability after 30 days. You must have received an honorable discharge to be eligible for the Post-9/11 GI Bill®.
- If you are currently serving in the military, you may be eligible for funding offered through the Department of Defense Tuition Assistance program. Check your eligibility status and the amount for which you qualify with your Service prior to enrolling.
- If you are the spouse or child of a service member who is serving on active duty Title 10 orders in the paygrades of E1-E5, O1-O2, or W1-W2, you may be eligible for financial assistance from the Department of Defense for education, training, and/or the occupational license and credentials necessary for a portable career. - If you are the spouse or child of a service member, you may be eligible for transfer of the service member’s Post-9/11 GI Bill® benefits to you.
DoD MOU
- Palo Alto College does not provide commissions, bonuses or other incentives based directly or indirectly on securing enrollments or federal financial aid (including Tuition Assistance funds) to any persons or entities engaged in any student recruitment, admission activities, or making decisions regarding the award of student financial assistance.
- Palo Alto College refrains from high-pressure recruitment tactics such as making multiple unsolicited contacts (3 or more). including contacts by phone, email, or in-person, or engage in same-day recruitment and registration for the purpose od securing Service member enrollments
Students must always consult their Education Service Center before engaging in any voluntary education endeavor. It's the student's responsibility to know the Tuition Assistance (TA) process and policy for their branch of service and to ensure tuition balances are paid by the payment deadline.
PAC will promptly readmit a service member with the same academic status and academic program they had when last attending the school or accepted for admission to the school. This requirement applies to any student who cannot attend school due to military service. Please reference the "Frequently Asked Questions: Institutional Readmission Requirements for Service members and guidance is available on the U.S. Department of Education's website.
