Faculty Student Mentoring
What is Faculty-Student Mentoring?

Starting college can often feel overwhelming, and many students share this experience! Our Faculty-Student Mentoring (FSM) program is designed to bridge that gap by pairing dedicated faculty members with students each semester for invaluable academic support and encouragement.
Faculty mentors use their knowledge and experience to answer questions, give advice, check on well-being, review assignments, and offer reminders, cultivating a stronger connection between students and their education.
What’s It Like Being a Mentor?
- Be assigned 1–2 student mentees (around Week 4).
- Send supportive emails and meet with mentees as desired.
- Discuss tutoring, registration, services, goals, and more.
- Use your own personality and knowledge to build connections.
