In 2020, I decided to return to school — something just clicked, and I knew I wanted to do more. I grew up on the South Side of San Antonio, and I knew right away that Palo Alto College was the place for me.

Throughout my time as a student, I received so much support from the S.H.A.R.E. Center and my professors. One moment I’ll never forget was when Instructor Edlyn De Oliveira reached out to me — I was an online student, and we had never met in person, but she still took the time to share a program she thought could benefit me. That genuine care showed me that I was part of something special.

The encouragement and assistance I received made it clear: this is the kind of community I wanted to be a part of. Fast-forward to today — after graduating from PAC, I’m honored to serve as the Executive Assistant to Dr. Garza in the President’s Office. It’s truly a full-circle moment.

Now, I get to support the very students, faculty, and staff in the same way I was once supported. I’m incredibly proud to be part of a college that leads with Care & Corazón — and even prouder to give back to the community that helped shape me.
