English
What is the English program?
The English department is dedicated to helping students become better writers and thinkers through the study of composition, literature, creative writing, and technical writing. Whether students are fulfilling degree requirements or pursuing an associate degree with a concentration in English, we offer a variety of classes to inspire and challenge students of all levels.
Students in composition courses practice the skills required to write college level essays using MLA documentation style while students in sophomore literature courses explore, discuss, and write about the worlds and ideas imagined in poems, novels, short stories, plays and more. Students enrolled in creative writing develop voice and authorship techniques; students in technical writing polish those specific writing skills necessary for professional success.
