Whether you have taken a class, completed a certificate, or earned a degree, you are considered an alumnus because once a Palomino, always a Palomino. There are many ways to stay involved with Palo Alto College after graduation. Whether you're celebrating new graduates or supporting student success, your involvement helps strengthen the Palomino community.
Graduation Ceremony
Help make commencement a memorable experience for our graduates and their families. Alumni volunteers assist with distributing programs, ushering guests, and event set-up during the spring graduation ceremony.

Give Back

Outstanding Former Student Award
Each year, Palo Alto College honors an Outstanding Former Student who has demonstrated excellence through professional achievement, community service, and continued support of education.
The honoree must have completed at least 24 credit hours at Palo Alto College and participate in the Spring Commencement Ceremony. Nominations are accepted annually from mid-January through mid-April.
Selection Criteria
- Professional Achievement: Outstanding success and distinction in their career field
- Service to the Community: A record of community participation and involvement
- Support of Education: Continued interest and support of education and the mission of Palo Alto College
- Completed at least 24 credit hours at Palo Alto College
- The individual is not a current Alamo Colleges District employee
Nominations will be accepted beginning January 2027.
Distinguished Alumni Award
The Distinguished Alumni Award is presented annually by the College President and is the highest honor Palo Alto College can bestow upon its alumni. Recipient(s) are recognized during PACfest, the College's annual Fiesta Week celebration.
Selection Criteria
- Nominees exemplify the mission and values of Palo Alto College.
- All Palo Alto College alumni are eligible, including Alamo Colleges District employees and non-employees.
- Self-nominations are encouraged.
- Nominees are asked to submit a biography for committee review and College records.
Nominations will be accepted beginning January 2027.
