Tutoring Services

Palo Alto College offers free tutoring services for all students in computer information systems, computer science, integrated reading and writing, math, and science classes, as well as all courses requiring writing assignments. Most tutoring is provided on a drop-in basis and is first-come, first-served. The Writing Assistance Center offers scheduled appointments and individual tutoring sessions.

CIS/COSC Learning Center
The CIS/COSC Learning Center provides assistance with all computer information systems and computer science courses, including C++, Java, and other software applications. Assistance is also provided to all students wanting help with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).

Integrated Reading and Writing Learning Center

The Integrated Reading and Writing (INRW) Learning Center provides assistance to students enrolled in INRW 0420. Students are required to attend the center once per week for the course’s lab requirement. Assistance is also available outside of lab time. The center has computers and a printer to complete classwork. The INRW LibGuide is a one-stop destination for improving English reading, writing, and speaking. A variety of multimedia resources (videos, apps, databases, helpful websites, and book listings) are pulled together into one convenient, user-friendly guide that has something for students of every learning style.

The Science Learning Center, which has two locations, provides assistance with all science courses. Anatomy models, computers, a printer, microscopes, and handouts on various science topics are available to complete classwork. There are two locations for the center.

Palo Alto College offers students free online tutoring services through Brainfuse in the following subjects:
