What is the New Nighthawks Program?

Designed specifically for first-year community college students, the New Nighthawks (NN) program supports college readiness towards completion and transfer.

The program provides students with navigational, academic, and student engagement support.

It provides students with:

Navigational Support: Advising, counseling, and mentorship. 

Academic Pathway: Features a year-long sequence of linked cohort classes focused on student engagement and collaboration. 

Student Engagement Support: Student leadership events & opportunities.

What happens in the program?

Students receive academic and navigational support throughout their academic career.

First Semester Cohort:
English Composition (ENGL 1301) + (INRW 0100) lab or English Composition (ENGL 1301) LINKED with Education (EDUC 1300) 

Second Semester Cohort:
English Composition (ENGL 1302) LINKED with Public Speaking (SPCH 1315) 



Students will:

  • Mentor with community leaders, professors, and counselors.
  • Connect with students with similar interests & goals
  • Engage in classes and college activities
