The TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) program is a free, federally funded initiative committed to providing comprehensive academic support and resources to help Northeast Lakeview College students successfully complete their associate degree and transfer to bachelor's degree programs.
The primary goal of TRIO SSS is to increase the college retention and graduation rates of its participants. It achieves this by focusing on:
- Academic Coaching and Advising: Individualized academic support from a designated TRIO- advisor that helps students to shape their academic and career goals and become effective agents of their own learning.
- Financial Aid and Financial Literacy: Application assistance for the full range of student financial aid programs, guidance in scholarship searches, education to improve financial literacy.
- Degree Planning and Transfer Guidance: Assisting with both short-term decision-making and long-term planning, including course selection, and application assistance for students transferring to a four-year university.
- Resource Connection: Connections to campus and community resources to facilitate students’ personal development and progress toward graduation and career goals.
