What is Music?

Music is the science or art of ordering tones or sounds in succession, in combination, and in temporal relationships to produce a composition having unity and continuity. It is the art of sound in time that expresses ideas and emotions in significant forms through the elements of rhythm, melody, and harmony.

What will I learn?

A student will acquire musical proficiency by participating in various ensembles and private lessons. Our ensembles student the experience of performing a wide variety of repertoire. 

What can I do with this course of study?

Music courses are structured to meet the needs of students who will pursue a baccalaureate degree in music. Music courses in this curriculum plan are transferable to public Texas four-year colleges and universities.

The Northeast Lakeview College music program provides university quality. Teaching faculty perform with symphonies, opera companies, prestigious festivals, chamber music groups, and special area recitals and concerts.
